Denton County Courts Building ADA Assessment

EIKON completed an Assessment of Denton  County Courts Building with regard to its compliance with the requirements of the American’s With Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Texas Department of licensing and Regulation – Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) and to provide recommendations for potential remedial actions to bring the building into compliance.  The facility consists of approximately 136,691 sf within four floors including courtrooms and their attending support facilities including offices, conference rooms, etc.  The Assessment was confined to the Courts and Hearing Rooms and the Juvenile Court located at the Cole Building.  Accessible routes to required exits, potential protruding objects, floor surfaces, doors and signage were all evaluated during the Assessment.  There were a total of 16 Courts and Hearing Rooms included in the final report submitted to the County addressing all items found to be non-compliant with recommendations for bringing these items up to current standards of the ADA/TAS codes.
