EIKON was selected as the prime consultant for the design of the renovations to the existing Plano Centre for the City of Plano. The approximately 122,500-square-foot facility serves as the city’s multi-purpose location for receptions, weddings, exhibitions and conventions and comes complete with a lush garden terrace and many other amenities.
EIKON Consulting Group served as Prime Professional for the renovations to the existing Plano Centre. The Plano Centre, the City of Plano’s 122,500 square foot convention center, was built in 1988 and recently renovated and modernized to continue to serve the community. The convention center is used by large corporate clients, exhibitions, and conventions, as well as private events like meetings, weddings, receptions, and parties. The Plano Centre remained occupied during renovations by utilizing a complex phasing plan.
Renovations to the exterior entries and windows, pre-function spaces and corridors, the Collinwood grand ballroom, and all of the meeting spaces will give the facility a much-needed facelift. The new design updates the finishes, such as flooring, ceilings, and walls, and replaces the acoustical systems and lighting for a fresh and modern convention center. The project included complete interior enhancements and exterior site improvements for way finding and accessible pathways to the existing entrances. The existing facility was reviewed and assessed for accessibility compliance during the initial stages of schematic design.
