Director of Civil Engineering

To lead and direct EIKON’s Civil Engineering discipline. This role will develop, coordinate, manage, and lead the operations and productivity of our civil operations, including a high focus on marketing/business development, manpower planning and workload management, financial accountability, administration, technical services, quality control and assurance, employee performance and development, overall success and morale, etc.; directly lead and manage the efforts of all projects and services provided to both new and existing clients; represent the company both internally and externally in all aspects associated with the company.

 

Work Schedule: 7:30 am- 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday; 8:00 am-12:00 pm Friday (minimum).

 

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, Outlook and MS Project
  • Knowledge of budgets, billing processes and projections, and basic project-related accounting principles
  • At least three years demonstrated success working on public and private sector projects

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas; ability to be licensed in other states; NCEES record current
  • At least seven total combined years of civil engineering design experience
  • At least three years prior experience of direct management of other employees, including Project Managers
  • At least three years demonstrated success working on public and private sector projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Climb stairs
  • Sit for long periods of time
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch

 

Environment: Work usually takes place in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office settings. Some travel required.
