Electrical Engineer

Purpose: The person in this Electrical Engineer role will be a part of EIKON’s MEP Engineering Division.  This engineer will be responsible for preparing lighting and power construction drawings and specifications, coordinating with mechanical engineers/designers, running load calculations and reviewing shop drawings and submittals.

                                                      

Work Schedule: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am – 12:00 pm Friday (minimum). Hours will vary on holiday weeks.

 

Essential Responsibilities/Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to)

  • Design of lighting and power systems for both new construction and renovations.
  • Create plans and schematics, perform calculations necessary for equipment selections, and provide systems narratives and specifications.
  • Create and detail panel schedules, one-line diagrams, risers, and lighting fixture schedules.
  • Review drawings for quality control.
  • Perform field investigations and construction administration.
  • Support Senior Electrical Engineer in interviews and presentations.
  • Provide company representation at owner/architect/contractor meetings.
  • Mentor and direct a team of designers and support personnel.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design of commercial/office/retail/industrial facility projects.
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Experience with BlueBeam.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Good working knowledge of industry standards, practices and codes.
  • Ability to direct a team of designers and support personnel.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.

 

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (Texas).
  • NCEES registration.
  • Experience in the design of commercial/office/retail/industrial facility projects.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Climb stairs
  • Sit for long periods of time
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

 

Environment: Work usually takes place in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office settings. Travel up to 10 % of the time is required.
