EIKON designed an approximately 15,500 SF office/bank building located in Austin, Texas. The building houses the southern corporate offices for a private bank, a mortgage company, tenant lease space, and a branch bank with two drive-through lanes on the ground level. The three-story structure also includes two levels of underground parking. Careful consideration was given to the building and landscape design with the anticipation of achieving a Silver LEED Certification. The site, a very small east-west oriented rectangle, has created many challenges and opportunities, and almost every single inch was utilized in the design solution. In an effort to create a building expressing its presence and stability, yet maintain the unique casualness of Austin, the north half of the building is clad in local Texas limestone while the back half is sheathed in metal. As a bridge between the commercial intensity to the east and the slower-paced, more residential area to the west, this project sets the tone for stitching the two together.
